SurfingSurfers come from all over to ride waves at one of the many St Martin/St Maarten beaches that are perfect for surfing. Some beaches are better for begginers and some will challenge even the most experienced surfer. Petites Cayes has remained one of the more "untouched" beaches and with its steady wave action and swells coming in from the North, it is the ideal place for surfing. This beach is rarely visited by tourists, so surfers will most likely have the beach to themselves. St Martin/St Maarten surfing on the North and West coasts is best from November through March while the East coast action is better from July through November. Other great surf spots include: Galion for beginners and experienced surfers, Guana for the more experienced because it is a dangerous spot, and Mullet Bay is said to be the most "radical" wave beach on the island.
