St Martin Beaches (French)

Anse Marcel

With plenty of shade and calm waters this beach is a great environment for families. The marina here offers a lot of shopping and restaurants.

Baie Longue

This beach is appropriately named because it is the longest white sand beach on the island. You can relax and take it easy here because there are no watersports or concessions. This St Martin beach offers plenty of privacy.

Baie Rouge

Named after its reddish sand this beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. It also provides for a great place to sunbathe because of its surrounding boulders and rock formations. If you get hungry local vendors sell food and drinks.

Friars Bay

There are three beach bars here that orgazine theme nights but this beach is known for its "Full Moon" parties. This St Martin beach can be fun for the whole family.

Grand Case

This is a very popular beach with a mild surf which provides a great atmosphere for familes and those that just want to relax and enjoy a quiet swim. Grand Case is known for its culinary expertise as well, so enjoy some of the excellent food from the many kiosks you will find lining the beachside.

Le Galion Beach/Coconut Grove

With its calm waters locals have named this St Martin beach the best place to take their kids for an afternoon of fun. Windsurfing is also a popular activity on this beach. This beach is great for people of all ages.

Towards the French side the beach becomes clothing-optional. There are no facilities here but during the day time hours vendors come around selling food and drink.

Dawn Beach

As the name mentions this beach offers views of stunning sunrises. With reefs just off the shoreline it provides for great snorkeling. This is also a popular spot for swimming and surfing of every kind when the waves are just right.

Great Bay

This is one of the longest and widest beaches on the island. Featuring a boardwalk lined with beach bars and restaurants it offers lots of opportunity for fun and partying.

Guana Bay

Peace and quiet is what you will find at this secluded St Maarten beach. The conditions are right for body boarding and surfing. There are no facilities on this beach so bring a cooler and bring an umbrella because there is no shade.

Little Bay

Off-shore reefs and quiet waters make this a great place for snorkeling and other watersports. This beach is less busy than Great Bay but it still offers lots of restaurant choices.

Maho Beach

You can watch planes fly over-head while soaking up the rays on this St Maarten beach. It is also a popular spot for relaxing under the palms, swimming and windsurfing.

Mullet Bay Beach

Enjoy beautiful sunsets and great swimming on this busy St Maarten beach. There are a few places to buy refreshments and plenty of shade to have your own picnic. This is also a great place for surfing. Bring your golf clubs because the island’s only golf course is located next to the beach.

Simpson Bay

This is a quiet beach offering a tropical paradise where you can take a stroll along the shore or just relax on the warm sand. There are few facilities here, but you won’t miss them as you take in the bay’s natural beauty.
